The struggle is usually known as the Moonlight Struggle (batalla a la luz de la luna) as it was unconventional for naval battles within the Age of Sail to happen at night. It had been also the initial major naval victory for the British more than their European enemies inside the war and proved the worth of copper-sheathing the hulls of warships. (
